With modern home decor, you are able to integrate global influences and leave a Scandinavian minimalist style together with vibrant Moroccan tiles. By blending the two it also creates a dialogue between cultures, allowing heritage to cohabitate into contemporary spaces.
Textiles and Patterns: Indian block prints or Guatemalan woven fabrics are traditional textiles that give a room depth and history. These elements are easy to work with pillows, throws and curtains.
Art and Artifacts: Cultural artwork, sculptures and heirlooms showing the times going back and forth. Examples are African masks or Chinese porcelain, which have their own story to tell, and give a space that personal touch.
Colors Inspired by Tradition: Colors generally have significance in culture. Mediterranean blues summon the seas of Greece, rich golds and reds make a nod to regal Indian palettes.
Natural Materials: And materials such as bamboo, clay or stone correspond to the natural resources related to the region and tradition in which it is made.
Craftsmanship: Traditional artisan crafts cultural artistry through handcrafted furniture and decor items.
For example, an Aboriginal gallery wall coexists with European tapestries or a ceramic display runs the gamut of countries from which it's purchased. It does so while also being that intentional mix, that enriches the aesthetic, and makes it undeniably personal.
The Modern Take: Heritage Meets Innovation
Integration of heritage becomes more encompassing and we continue to evolve the way we work together as a design team. Now traditional patterns can be rethought in wallpapers, rugs, digital prints with modern technology. Preserving cultural practices and meeting current demands through the use of sustainable materials and ethical sourcing.
Elevating your interior as a cultural canvas is about how identity, heritage and artistry are portrayed. We respect the past by weaving the elements of tradition into modern designs. This can be an overt luxury through the bold patterns used in our homes, to artifacts with meaning or using materials only meticulously thought out, our homes become colourfully absorbed by the rich cultures that inspire us.
