Worcester, Massachusetts – Spectrum News reviewed the behind the scenes of the recent facility of UMass Memorial which will be provided more hospital beds, and jobs to Central Massachusetts on October 25 (Friday).


UMass Memorial Health’s North Pavilon facility is discovered at the Former Beaumont Rehabilition, and Skilled Nursing Center. Worcester Congressman Jim McGovern inspected the faculty on Thursday, October 24 to review the of $1 Million in federal funding, which would be arranged for IT infrastructure, and medical equipment.

UMass President and CEO, Dr. Eric Dickson reported on Spectrum News that this new building will provide 72 Hospital Beds, and will bring the additional space for 24 more beds for patients in the upcoming winter season. It would be an easier setting across the Worcester area, and become the huge project in medical field.


"We're incredibly excited to be able to hopefully open our 72 new inpatient beds here on our University Campus in January, right about when the peak of the cold and flu season whn we need the beds the most" said Dickson. "We've struggled for many years to have adequate beds with the growth of Worcester County to be able to keep up with that growth. And this, the largest project in our history, is going to help a lot in terms of being able to keep up with the increase in the number of people that live in Worcester County."


Dickson stated that the addiction of the recent covering, Central Massachusetts has small amount of beds per capita in the state and the area would adapt another approximately between 200 to 225 to fit the population.
