Worcester, Massachusetts – Another television series continues to film for the gigantic screen in Worcester. Eventually, it is called the crime mystery of “Dreamcrusher”. Filmmaker Gavin Michael Booth reported the concept of this television program.
“‘Dreamcrusher’ is about a pop star named Gwen,” said Booth. “Unfortunately, she is discovered dead the morning after her hometown concert. It’s album release day and everyone we meet backstage becomes the key suspects of the last people who were with her.”
Booth also reported that Worcester’s Palladium was the perfect place to film, providing the venue for Gwen’s concert, "It’s sort of that perfect, you know, what everyone pictures the backstage of a concert and green room should look like."
Crews participated in filing on the entire street in the City of Worcester and in local coffee shops. “Dreamcrusher” is an American production, therefore, the city’s business development manager, Edgar Luna reported it became the first time a film crew from outside of the United States chose Worcester as its scenery.
“It’s a company from Canada and it's the first time a Canadian film company has come to Worcester,” said Luna. “Therefore, we have become an international venue for movies and we’re excited about that.”
“Dreamcrusher” became a part of the “Reward” series streaming on the platform Reveel which was established in Massachusetts. Booth reported 90% of the show was filmed in Worcester, and everyone from city leaders to residents, and entrepreneurs was thrilled that it had already progressed.
“I can’t stress enough how great the crew and the community are,” said Booth. “Walking into a coffee shop and asking to film there and them saying can we make everyone lunch, can we help? And we are just like we just need the location and they are like, but can we help?”
The first episode of “Dreamcrusher” is looking forward to being aired in January. Luna reported the city of Worcester is already in conversations with three different film industries in Worcester in 2025.
