Alaska Airlines is poised to embark on its most expansive summer schedule to date, introducing a range of new nonstop routes and international connections to meet the surge in summer travel demand.
Among the highlights, the airline has inaugurated nonstop service between key cities such as New York's JFK and Anchorage, San Diego and Anchorage, Portland and Nashville, and Atlanta and Anchorage. Notably, the airline has expanded its international footprint with new flights to destinations including Toronto, Guatemala City, and the Bahamas.
In addition to bolstering its route network, Alaska Airlines is enhancing service from its hub airports. San Diego will see a notable increase of 23 percent in flights, while Los Angeles will offer 33 percent more flights. Travelers bound for Mexico can expect expanded options, with flights to popular destinations like Cancun, Guadalajara, and Puerto Vallarta.
Further enhancing the travel experience, Alaska Airlines will relocate to San Francisco International Airport's Harvey Milk Terminal 1 later this month, complemented by the opening of a new lounge in July. Additionally, the airline is reintroducing hot meals for both main and premium cabins on select long haul flights, providing passengers with expanded dining choices.
Andrew Harrison, Chief Commercial Officer at Alaska Airlines, emphasized the airline's commitment to delivering exceptional service and safety. "As best in class operators, our top priority is consistently delivering on our promise to guests to take them where they're going safely and on time all while showing them the care for which we're known," Harrison stated.
"This summer, we're prepared to do more flying and welcome more guests to experience not only a safe operation, but also a premium experience. We've been hard at work on elevating all aspects of the travel journey for our guests from start to finish."
