Australia's T20 World Cup preparations included a sunset catamaran cruise on Barbados's blue waters, fostering team spirit ahead of their tournament opener against Oman. Bowler Ashton Agar highlighted the experience as a perfect bonding opportunity before focusing on their goal of winning the T20 World Cup.

The team, which holds the test and one day world championships, enjoyed a relaxed buildup as they awaited teammates from the Indian Premier League. By Saturday, the squad was complete, and they celebrated with drinks while sailing the Caribbean coastline, soaking in the serene environment.

Reflecting on the experience, Agar shared a moment from the cruise: “We were sitting on the roof of the catamaran last night. Marcus Stoinis remarked how unique it was for the whole team to be together, enjoying the sunset and each other’s company. It was easy to forget we were here for the World Cup because it was just so beautiful. It was a great way to start.”

Led by Mitchell Marsh, Australia aims to secure a historic treble by adding the T20 World Cup to their test and one day titles. The tournament, co hosted by the United States, began with the U.S. achieving a significant victory over Canada in Dallas, with Aaron Jones scoring an unbeaten 94.

Agar praised the opening match: “For the U.S. and Canada to have such a game, it’s a fantastic start to the tournament. I’m excited for them, it’s good for world cricket.”
