The Cleveland Cavaliers have become only the fourth team in NBA history to win their first 15 regular season games, securing a 128-114 victory over the Charlotte Hornets at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland.
Darius Garland led the team with 25 points, 12 assists, and five rebounds, while Ty Jerome, stepping in for Donovan Mitchell, contributed 24 points. Evan Mobley added 23 points and 11 rebounds, and Jarrett Allen posted 21 points and 15 rebounds. Despite a strong performance from LaMelo Ball, who scored 31 points for the Hornets, Charlotte couldn’t overcome Cleveland's balanced attack.
The Cavaliers now join an elite group of teams with such a strong season start: the Washington Capitols (1948-49), Houston Rockets (1993-94), and Golden State Warriors (2015-16). While all three previous teams reached the NBA Finals, only the Rockets claimed the championship.
Jarrett Allen praised Cleveland fans for their unwavering support, saying, "The energy is incredible. The city of Cleveland has adopted us and has our backs."
Currently leading the Eastern Conference, the Cavaliers are set to face the defending NBA champions, the Boston Celtics, who sit in second place, on Tuesday.
