Deadpool & Wolverine: Breaking Down Their Four Wild Cameos

The long anticipated "Deadpool & Wolverine" has finally hit theaters, bringing with it a wave of excitement and speculation about potential cameos. The film pays tribute to the now defunct 20th Century Fox Marvel universe, absorbed by Disney in 2019. Speculation about cameos ranged from hints in Taylor Swift’s album to Halle Berry’s Instagram posts. The film features four unexpected and outrageous cameos that are sure to delight fans.

Chris Evans as Johnny Storm

In a surprising twist, Chris Evans reprises his role as Johnny Storm from the 2005 "Fantastic Four" films. In the movie, Deadpool and Wolverine encounter Evans in the Void, a dimension filled with discarded Marvel characters. Instead of Captain America's famous line, Evans shouts "Flame on!" and transforms into the Human Torch, leading to an insane and gory scene befitting a Deadpool film.

Wesley Snipes as Blade

Wesley Snipes returns as Blade, the vampire hunter from the late ’90s and early ’00s trilogy. Snipes joins a team of forgotten heroes, including Jennifer Garner’s Elektra, to help Deadpool and Wolverine battle Cassandra Nova, played by Emma Corrin. Snipes’ Blade makes a pointed comment about being the one true Blade, referencing Mahershala Ali's upcoming reboot of the character.

Channing Tatum as Gambit

Channing Tatum finally appears as Gambit, a role he was attached to since 2015 but never got off the ground. In the film, Tatum’s Gambit is part of Blade and Elektra’s team in the Void. Tatum's extended scenes showcase his character’s abilities, with the script making fun of his long awaited debut.

Henry Cavill as "Cavillerene"

In a brief but memorable cameo, Henry Cavill appears as a Wolverine variant during Deadpool’s multiverse quest. Cavill’s appearance includes a nod to his previous role as Superman, with Deadpool reassuring him that Marvel will treat him better than DC. These cameos add to the irreverent and nostalgic charm of "Deadpool & Wolverine," making it a must watch for fans of the Marvel universe.
