A week may seem long in football, but for Everton, it hasn’t been enough. Despite the reasons whether it’s injuries to key players, tactical issues, or a lack of confidence Saturday’s performance against Tottenham did little to boost the morale of fans. The initial optimism at the start of the season has quickly faded after two consecutive losses and a lack of offensive firepower.

This scenario feels familiar, with parallels to last season's second game at Aston Villa, although it doesn't make the situation easier to accept. Still, improvement is anticipated and hopefully, it’s on the horizon.

After enduring years of relegation battles, poor management, and financial constraints, Everton supporters are on edge. It often feels like the team is just a couple of defeats away from entering a full blown crisis. The manager’s recent remarks haven’t helped, as they seem poorly timed and somewhat counterproductive. Living in this current Everton environment may have taken its toll on him.

The confrontation between a few fans and the team at London Euston on Saturday night doesn’t reflect the sentiments of most Evertonians. Such incidents should not be repeated. Instead, this is a moment for unity.

The season is only two games in, and there are opportunities to make amends this week. With two upcoming home games against Doncaster and Bournemouth, Everton has the chance to correct the mistakes of the Brighton and Tottenham matches.

Everton has often shown resilience through togetherness. Now is the time for the fans, the manager, and the players to demonstrate that once again.
