The Tafwyl festival is set to make its return to Cardiff on 13 , 14 July, featuring a diverse lineup of artists and musicians celebrating the Welsh language. This annual cultural event gathers creatives from across Wales, with Welsh performers taking center stage during the free two day festival.
The main stage at Tafwyl will host a variety of Welsh acts over the weekend, including performances from Eden, Fleur De Lys, Al Lewis, and more. Bethan Jones Ollerton, Tafwyl's chief officer, stated, "Tafwyl was established to celebrate Welsh music, language, and culture in the capital city, providing a platform for Welsh language performers from all over Cymru."
The festival will feature live music and events across three stages, a sports area, a kids' village, and live cooking demonstrations. Attendees can also enjoy local food and drink, including the exclusive Cwrw Tafwyl beer brewed especially for the festival.
Location and Schedule
This year's Tafwyl will take place in Bute Park, spanning Cooper’s Field and the Sunken Lawn, with various stages and tents. "Tafwyl began 18 years ago in 2006 at the Mochyn Du pub car park with around 1,000 attendees," said Jones Ollerton. "It quickly outgrew the car park, moved to Cardiff Castle in 2012, and last year found its new home in Bute Park."
The festival starts at 11:30 BST on Saturday, 13 July, and concludes at around 22:00 on Sunday, 14 July. A festival map is available to help attendees navigate the event.
