During a recent virtual signing with K & S WrestleFest, former WWE United States Champion MVP spoke to rumors on the possible return outside of WWE of the WWE faction, The Hurt Business. A faction that saw its original members being MVP, Bobby Lashley, and Shelton Benjamin had been on a tear before getting disbanded.
Addressing the faction's status following their respective WWE exits, MVP clarified, "The Hurt Business is dead, and it was killed off by the powers that be at WWE." He would also seem to hint at some manner of ongoing plans in continuing to say, "Myself, Bobby Lashley, and Shelton Benjamin-we're talking amongst ourselves about what we want to do going forward. Stay tuned."
This comes after MVP's and Lashley's WWE contracts expired on August 16, coupled with Shelton Benjamin's release in September 2023.
The famous wrestling reporter Dave Meltzer also commented on the matter on September 2 in the Wrestling Observer. He stated that many believe they will reunite their faction, which is now known as The Hurt Syndicate, under AEW. According to Meltzer, "Even though it's possible, it would depend on AEW president Tony Khan.".
The future of three talented wrestlers remains in the hands of fate, and MVP's message encourages the fans to "stay tuned" as that fate unfolds.
