Great Britain's Charlotte Purdue has withdrawn from the women's marathon at the Paris 2024 Olympics due to an ankle injury.
The 33 year old will be replaced by Clara Evans for the event scheduled for August 11.
Purdue, who ran the marathon in 2 hours 22 minutes and 17 seconds at the 2023 Berlin Marathon, is the second fastest British woman in the marathon, following Paula Radcliffe.
Welsh runner Clara Evans, 30, will make her Olympic debut in Paris after being called up to replace Purdue. She will compete alongside Calli Hauger Thackery and Rose Harvey in the women's marathon, which is the final athletics event of the Paris 2024 Olympics.
In the men's race, which takes place one day before the women's, Phil Sesemann, Emile Cairess, and Mahamed Mahamed will represent Great Britain.
