Google Photos is enhancing its Memories feature to give users greater control over which faces appear in their photo collages. The tech giant is introducing a new tool that simplifies the process of hiding specific individuals from Memories, making it more user friendly.
According to Android Authority, Google is improving the ease of hiding faces in Google Photos. Previously, users had to go through several menus to exclude certain people from their photo retrospectives. The upcoming update will streamline this process, allowing users to hide a face directly from a photo's details page, making the experience faster and more intuitive.
Although Google has not officially announced when the new feature will be released, it is expected to be available in the coming months. This update addresses user concerns about unwanted faces appearing in their Memories.
To use the feature, users can navigate to the app's settings menu, go to Preferences Memories, and select "Hide people and pets." This will enable users to hide individuals from appearing in their Memories, creations, or on the search page without deleting any photos.
The report highlights that Google has reduced the number of steps required for this process. Based on an APK teardown, users will find the new method more straightforward and efficient.
