VENETIAN NIGHT, An Exclusive Charity Event Returns to Venice with Kelly Rowland Performing
The amfAR Gala, one of the most exclusive charity events, is returning to Venice with a special performance by Kelly Rowland. Scheduled for September 1, the gala coincides with the 81st Venice International Film Festival, running from August 28 to September 7.
This annual benefit, held at Hangar Nicelli with views of the city’s lagoon, includes a black tie dinner followed by a live auction of artworks and unique experiences. The funds raised support AIDS research, HIV prevention, treatment education, and advocacy. Kelly Rowland, a multiple Grammy Award winner and former Destiny’s Child member, joins the ranks of previous performers like Rita Ora and Leona Lewis, who helped raise $2 million at last year’s event, and Ellie Goulding, who performed in 2022.
“We are thrilled and grateful to have the multitalented Kelly Rowland performing for us at amfAR Venezia,” said amfAR CEO Kevin Robert Frost. “Her incredible voice will help make this a truly unforgettable evening.”
Rowland is not only a talented performer but also a vocal advocate for HIV treatment and prevention. She has traveled to Africa multiple times to highlight the persistent inequities in access to care. In 2022, Rowland was honored with amfAR’s Award of Courage.
The 2024 amfAR Gala in Venice is presented by the World Gold Council and The Red Sea International Film Festival, with Chopard and Campari as signature sponsors. Since its inception in 1985, amfAR has invested over $635 million in its programs and awarded more than 3,800 grants to research teams worldwide.
