Kendrick Lamar has won the 2025 Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance for “Not Like Us” He dethroned his appearances on the Future and Metro Boomin track, “Like That” including other acts — Cardi B (“Enough”), Common and Pete Rock (“When the Sun Shines Again”), Doechii (“Nissan Altima”), Eminem (“Houdini”) and GloRilla (“Yeah Glo!”).
Best Rap Performance was Lamar’s first of five achievements at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards. He attends to receive “Best Rap Song”, “Best Music Video”, “Record of the Year”, and “Song of the Year” for his diss track – “Not Like Us”.
Additionally, when Lamar received the “Song of the Year” category. He also dethroned other mainstream pop acts — Taylor Swift and Post Malone’s “Fortnight”, Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ‘Em”, Billie Eilish's “Birds of a Feather,” Chappel Roan’s “Good Luck, Babe!”, Sabrina Carpenter’s “Please Please Please”, Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)”, and Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ duet “Die With a Smile”
The legendary diva, Diana Ross presented this award category, and Lamar made a clear statement about the important role of Hip-Hop Music.
“Come on man, Diana Ross. Come on, man. Hey, I’m star-struck This is what it’s about, man, because, at the end of the day, nothing more powerful than rap music,” said Lamar. “I don’t care what it is. We are the culture. It’s gon’ always stay here and live forever. And, to the young artists, like my man [Terrence ‘Punch’ Henderson] say, I just hope you respect the art form. That’s all.
