Rapper Kendrick Lamar is hosting the Super Bowl Halftime Show in New Orleans, Louisiana, the NFL confirmed on Sunday, September 8. He expressed a press release statement.

“Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date,” said Lamar. “And I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one.”

Lamar is one of the most enhanced rappers in Hip-Hop history. He received 17 Grammy Awards and 29 BET Awards, he earned the Pulitzer Prize for music in 2018 which he became the first rapper to earn besides the classical or jazz genres.

Roc Nation and Emmy-Award winner, Jesse Collins would be responsible as a co-executive producer of Apple Music Halftime Show.

Kendrick Lamar is truly a once-in-a-generation artist and performer,” Roc Nation CEO, Jay-Z explained in a press release. “His deep love for hip-hop and culture informs his artistic vision. He has an unparalleled ability to define and influence culture globally. Kendrick’s work transcends music, and his impact will be felt for years to come.”

Lamar’s single, “Not Like Us”, a diss record target at Canadian Rapper Drake, became one of the biggest pop songs of the summer and peaked at number-one on the Billboard Hot 100.

Lamar did not have a chance to publish any album since his 2022 "Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers.” He skyrocketed during the early 2010s when his sophomore album, “Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City” became triple platinum.

Super Bowl 59 will begin on February 9, 2025. Lamar previously performed at the 2022 Super Bowl Halftime Show with other Hip-Hop Stars including Eminem, Dr. Dre, and Mary J. Blige in a West Coast Style.
