Liverpool are nearing an agreement to sign Juventus winger Federico Chiesa. While the deal hasn't been finalized yet, the Reds are optimistic about securing the Italy international for a fee of approximately €13 million (£10.9 million).
Chiesa, 26, could potentially undergo a medical with Liverpool in the coming days, and if everything proceeds smoothly, he would become Arne Slot's first signing at the club. During an interview with Italian network Sportitalia outside an airport on Wednesday, Chiesa expressed his readiness for the move, stating he was "ready for this new adventure."
Chiesa was a standout player in Italy's Euro 2021 winning team, which triumphed over England 2-1 in the final at Wembley. He scored 32 goals in 131 appearances for Juventus, including 10 goals in 37 matches last season. Despite his contributions, newly appointed Juventus manager Thiago Motta has excluded Chiesa from his first two matchday squads this season.
In addition to Chiesa, Liverpool are also looking to finalize a deal for Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili before the transfer window closes on Friday.
