A new upcycling service called Newless has launched in the UK, giving consumers the chance to turn their preloved clothing into unique, custom garments. With a goal to lessen fashion's environmental footprint, Newless aims to make upcycling more accessible and appealing to a wider audience. Through their ‘Newless on Demand’ service, customers can either send in a preloved item from their wardrobe or select a vintage piece from the Newless collection to be transformed.

The process involves five steps: after selecting the starting garment, Newless sends a kit to help customers take measurements and return the item. Next, customers complete a brief design questionnaire, specifying their size and style preferences. Designers then create the custom piece, consulting the customer if needed, and within five days, the final garment is delivered.

Newless offers design suggestions, such as turning an oversized blazer into a tailored set or repurposing old jeans into a denim skirt. Prices for the service range from £70 to £150, depending on the complexity of the design.

Additionally, Newless plans to host pop up events where consumers can have their garments upcycled in under 90 minutes by emerging designers. These events, intended to be social experiences, allow customers to collaborate with designers while enjoying drinks and socializing.
