Apple has announced that Apple Podcasts will now be streamable directly from any web browser. Currently, the runaway podcast title can be accessed via major browsers—Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and of course, Safari—across more than 170 countries.

The new web experience is designed to make it much easier for anyone who visits Apple Podcasts using a web browser, regardless of the device they use, to access a podcast. Previously, people could listen on the web, but they had to use a search engine to look up a show and then visit that show's Apple Podcasts Preview page.

Now, this newest Apple podcasts launch is going to bring back the refreshed interface that puts a number of app-exclusive features onto the web. "Currently, the users will be able to browse millions of shows, see areas like Library and Top Charts, and buy premium podcast subscriptions," he added. Also, when listeners sign in with their Apple Accounts, they are allowed to pause a podcast, save their playback progress, and view their followed shows and subscriptions. Users can still browse and listen even without an Apple Account, but there will be limited functionality.

It does this by placing Apple Podcasts at the very front line with other web-based podcast players such as Castbox, Podbay, Podcast App, and Podurama, and the music streaming services including YouTube Music, Amazon Music, and Spotify.

The podcasting community, which does not need to download extra apps but wants full functionality, will embrace the move. For the podcasters themselves, this eases a little of how one can share links to episodes, shows, and channels in order to reach a more global audience.

And here we go! Apple Podcasts Now Streaming Directly on the Web for you. The new interface is now ready for testing on podcasts.apple.com.
