Who is Plabita Hazarika?
Plabita Hazarika’s inspiring journey showcases the power of passion and perseverance. Born and raised in the small town of Nagaon in Assam, India, she defied societal norms and her own family's reservations to carve a path in the world of music. Today, she resides in Mumbai, having made significant strides in both the hospitality industry and the Bollywood music scene.
An aviation and hospitality professional by education, Plabita always harbored a deep passion for music. Despite her parents' initial disapproval—fueled by the belief that music was an unsuitable pursuit for a girl—she remained steadfast in her dreams. “If a girl can rule a country, then music is certainly not something to worry about,” she asserts, reflecting the determination that fueled her journey.
Plabita’s path was anything but easy. She had to fight against societal expectations and familial constraints to move to Mumbai, where opportunities awaited. Over the course of 4-5 years, she balanced a career in the hospitality industry while nurturing her passion for music. Her unwavering commitment bore fruit as she landed opportunities to perform playback singing in Bollywood.
Additionally, she recently collaborated with singers Dev Negi and Ankita, among others, for an official song for ‘Bajao Ganna Officials.’ The song was composed and directed by Vivek Kar, written by Kumarofficial, and featured Terence Lewis and Sarah Anjuli in the cast. This project brought her together with several legendary figures from the Bollywood music industry.
Earlier in her career, Plabita had the honor of singing many songs for Mr. Sameer Phaterpekar, a renowned musician who has worked with the legendary Laxmikant-Pyarelal. These collaborations further solidified her position as a rising star in the music world.
