Boston, Massachusetts — The Boston Red Sox supported their rookie development program media availability this week, which allowed the media to discuss the company's top seven prospects.
Outfielder Roman Anthony is the number one rated prospect in the entire minor league baseball according to Baseball America. He stated to Spectrum News 1 that he enjoyed a good offseason and is prepared to go for spring training.
“It’s been awesome, I’ve got to move around a little bit, spend a lot of time in Florida back at home,” said Anthony. “But coming from Trevor’s (Story) in Dallas, got to go out there with a few guys… it’s been a great offseason, and I’m looking forward to getting to spring training.”
“I don’t think the goals change regardless of what offseason it is,” said Anthony. “I’ve gone into every offseason with the same mentality which is just to get better at every aspect of the game. Show up at spring training and make some noise.”
Boston’s pitchers and catchers would be confirmed on February 12. The team’s first official workout training would be on February 17.
