Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes faced Solo Sikoa in a Bloodline Rules Match at WWE SummerSlam, held at Cleveland Browns Stadium in Cleveland, OH, on Saturday night.
The match started evenly, with Cody landing a springboard dropkick and an outside dive. Solo soon gained control and began a prolonged assault. Cody fought back with a Cody Cutter and flurry of right hands, but Solo countered with a powerbomb for a near fall. Solo continued his dominance until Cody managed to hit the Cross Rhodes. The Tongas interfered, executing their finisher on Cody, which allowed Solo to attempt a pin, but Cody kicked out at two.
Kevin Owens and Randy Orton rushed to the ring, with Orton delivering an RKO and Owens hitting a front senton, helping to even the odds. Cody then landed his finisher on Solo, resulting in another near fall. Cody used the steel steps against Solo, but Solo responded with a spear, also for a two count. Jacob Fatu joined the fray, attacking Cody and delivering a splash off the top rope through the announce table. Back in the ring, Solo hit a top rope splash, but Cody kicked out once more.
In the climax, Cody delivered a superkick and a supercutter. Roman Reigns made a dramatic return, hitting Solo with a Superman Punch and a spear before leaving the ring. Cody capitalized on the opportunity, executing the Cross Rhodes on Solo to secure the victory.
