Taylor Swift snapped a perfect royal selfie ahead of her concert at Wembley Stadium, posing with the Prince of Wales and his two eldest children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. Kensington Palace shared the backstage photo on X, formerly known as Twitter, before the Friday night show, captioning it, "Thank you Taylor Swift for a great evening!"

For Prince William, taking his children to Swift's concert was a memorable way to celebrate his 42nd birthday, especially after a busy week that included attending England's Euro 2024 match against Denmark in Germany the previous evening. Swift later shared another selfie featuring her boyfriend Travis Kelce alongside Prince William and the young royals, with the caption, "Happy B’day M8! London shows are off to a splendid start."

Videos from the concert, widely shared online, captured Prince William dancing to Swift's hit song "Shake It Off." Meanwhile, Catherine, Princess of Wales, stayed home with their youngest child, six year old Prince Louis. However, Louis did appear in an official birthday photograph released earlier on Friday.

Swift and Prince William share a history, having performed together at a charity event at Kensington Palace in 2013, alongside Jon Bon Jovi. Swift, currently on her Eras Tour, has been performing across the UK, with shows in Edinburgh, Liverpool, and Cardiff. Her concerts take fans through her extensive catalog of hits, including tracks from the albums 1989, Red, and Midnights.

Friday night's show at Wembley was the first of Swift's eight performances at the stadium, with nearly 90,000 fans in attendance, some of whom had queued since early morning. Notable attendees included Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan, Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer, Queer Eye's Jonathan Van Ness, and model Cara Delevingne. Swift's parents, Andrea and Scott, were also present.

Swift expressed her affection for London, a city where she once lived, calling it "the most exhilarating city in the world."
