Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign is a very foreshadowed support that motivates millions of Taylor Swift’s fan otherwise known as “Swfities”.
The singer-songwriter supported the Democratic nominee in a Social Media post, which she revealed on Instagram, following Harris’ Presidential Debate with Donald Trump's conclusion.
Like many of you, I watched the debate tonight,” said Swift. “If you haven’t already, now is a great time to do your research on the issues at hand and the stances these candidates take on the topics that matter to you the most. As a voter, I make sure to watch and read everything I can about their proposed policies and plans for this country.”
"I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election. I’m voting for [Kamala Harris] because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them, " Swift continues. "I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos. I was so heartened and impressed by her selection of running mate [Tim Walz], who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades."
Swift’s support came along after she became close friend with Brittany Mahomes – the wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, Patrick Mahomes – made broadcast in weeks for endorsing Trump. Swift and Brittany Mahomes were seen hanging out at the U.S. Open in New York City on Sunday, absorbing their political differences does effect their friendship.
Swift’s criteria does meet the the hot topic of yesterday’s Presidental Debate, combining with any some animosities that comes with it. She is the best selling artist with receiving breaking record on the Eras Tour. She received 280 million Instagram followers, detroning Harris 17 million, and Trump’s 26 million.
Do you think these metrics matters, how does it relate to other politicians? There is a topic who has been debating for many years.
According to Politifact, they explained about the February issue on Swift participation in politics, “misguided to assume that Swift’s potential involvement in the race would be a magic bullet with guaranteed results.”
Ja’han Jones explained about her article on The ReidOut Blog in the May issue to explain some where mention another celebrity supporter that includes Swift as one of them to have a major impact in history of politician endorsement.
“Beyoncé endorsed Beto O’Rourke, a Democrat, in her home state of Texas in 2018 against Republican Sen. Ted Cruz,” said Jones “And that same year Taylor Swift endorsed Democratic Senate candidate Phil Bredesen’s effort to oust Republican Sen. Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee. Both O’Rourke and Bredesen lost, and the celebrity endorsements seemed hardly to have moved the needle.”
