The Weeknd revealed the release date for his upcoming sixth studio album, Hurry Up Tomorrow which would be released on January 24, 2025, via XO/Republic Records, providing “the final chapter in his trilogy” including his previous project, After Hours (2020), and Dawn FM (2022). The Weeknd did not expose the official tracklist, which has not been public, however, he recently published three singles: Dancing in The Flames, São Paulo with Brazilian singer, Anitta, and Timeless with Playboi Carti.
The Weeknd would develop his first film debut Hurry Up Tomorrow, where Trey Edward Shults directed, and Actors Jenny Ortega and Barry Keoghan would be featured in the movie as well. The Weeknd and Danial Leopatin would be responsible for scoring the movie.
In September 2024, the Weeknd made a titled for “Hurry Up Tomorrow”, and engaged in a São Paulo concert. He would play another concert at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California to commerate album release on January 25, 2025.
According to Billboard Magazine, “It’s a poetic end to this chapter of his career, considering the way he started it over a decade ago: In 2011, he dropped three mixtapes — ‘House of Balloons’, ‘Thursday’ and ‘Echoes of Silence’ — that were eventually remastered and repackaged into his Trilogy compilation album, which his XO label and Republic Records released the following year.”
