The National Subsea Centre and NOC Innovations have united to tackle complex marine related challenges that surpass the capacity of individual entities, enhancing their technological and research prowess in the process. This collaboration will amalgamate a diverse group of specialized researchers, engineers, and scientists to create a dedicated community focused on resolving marine issues.

Strategically advantageous both geographically and technologically, the NSC and NOC Innovations will leverage their collective resources, insights, and expertise to aid organizations in making informed decisions within their operational environments. Their combined proficiency encompasses a broad spectrum of fields, including marine science, robotics, sensor technology, data science, artificial intelligence, imaging, object detection and classification, digital twins, simulation, and remote sensing. By working collaboratively, the teams will share research findings and develop joint solutions aimed at achieving sustainability and energy transition goals.

Additionally, this partnership will strengthen their ability to support both new and existing industry partners. Each center offers unique facilities to this end: NOC Innovations boasts an ‘Innovation Centre’ equipped with specialized engineering and testing amenities, while the NSC provides access to a variety of resources, including a Flowloop, Hyperspectral Imaging Lab, robotics area, Materials Lab, extensive workshop space, yard area, and an Innovation Hub capable of hosting up to 75 people for various events.

John McCall, NSC Director, emphasized the alignment of mission and values between the two organizations, stating, “This partnership is an ideal match for what we aim to achieve at the NSC. It underscores our commitment to fostering innovation and excellence in marine technology by harnessing our combined expertise across various marine projects.” This collaboration exemplifies their dedication to advancing marine technology and addressing critical marine related challenges through shared knowledge and capabilities.
