Worcester, Massachusetts — Friends and family of a three-year-old fighting a form of cancer gathered at the Vernon Hill American Legion Post on Sunday for a raffle and live music to provide money for her treatment.
Ryla was diagnosed with Stage III Willis tumor, a type of kidney cancer that has spread above the kidneys into almost the entire body. Kerri Collins and her aunt organized the event, and dozens of people participated. Parents David Poske and Breanna Monroe reported that they were thankful for their help.
“It's awesome, honestly I never imagined so many people showing up to show support for our baby," Poske said.
"I think it's amazing, we're very thankful to the Post for hosting it, and for Kerri Collins for putting it together," said Monroe.
On January 5, 2025, the family reached over 80% of their fundraising goal. The money would be provided for the support to cover medical bills, and lost wages from Ryla’s parents as they enjoy their quality time from their current to concentrate on her health.
