Worcester, Massachusetts — The Worcester Red Sox were supporting people in need this week, creating shortcuts around the city and above with their holiday camper. They participated at Polar Park on Wednesday, December 11, providing lunch to 130 Vernon Hill Elementary School students.

The students earned a warm lunch and wonderful gifts developed to maintain students in a warm environment.  WooSox President Charles Steinberg explained on Spectrum News about the important role of baseball players who participate in charity work to gain more options that could be beneficial in the long-run.

“I think it's one of the greatest honors a baseball team has is to have the potential to go out into the community and bring joy and bring cheer, bring a personal touch” said Steinberg. “When you have that opportunity, you therefore have that responsibility. We've embraced it for decades now with all of our ball clubs. And when you find that you have third graders who equate your autograph with that of Triston Casas well, then it's a lot easier to spread the joy to a larger population."

The caravan would participates in charities, hospitals, and schools throughout Friday, and would contribute a lot of gifts.
