Wyclef Jean will always advocate for his home country, Haiti.

During the latest presidential debate with Kamala Harris on September 10, Donald Trump expanded and stated his false claim that Haitian Immigrants in Ohio were kidnapping and feeding pets.

"In Springfield, they're eating the dogs, the people that came in," said Trump. "They're eating the cats. They're eating the pets of the people that live there. This is what's happening in our country, and it's a shame."

During a latest conversation with TMZ, Jean, who was born in Haiti, and later migrated to the United States at the age of nine with his family, reached out, opposed to the former president’s animosity comments.

According to officials, there is no proof or evidence that Haitian Immigrants are participating in any harmful or criminal activities.

"I will be forever grateful for my family's life, for having a fair chance to live what is called the 'American Dream,'" said Jean. "One of our greatest assets in America is that we are a country of immigrants. I speak from the heart when I say Haitian people living in the U.S. are good neighbors and good people. We care about humanity. We care about our neighbors. On behalf of Haitian Americans, I ask that we stop these racist messages and accusations. Put our hands out in peace and say thanks for being my neighbor.”

The former Fugees member endorses voters to strive over the derogatory comments and concentrating on the important role of democracy instead of creating inflammatory elevation.

"We need to respect one another and vote based on policies and facts, not crazy talk, said Jean. And we need to shake hands with one another and be thankful we are part of an America for all."
