Zendaya recently described her experience working with her boyfriend, Tom Holland, as "strangely comfortable." The two began dating after meeting on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2017 and quickly became one of Hollywood's most adored couples, both on-screen and off-screen. As that would hardly be enough, word on the street now is they will be joining forces once more for one of the most iconic directors in the game: Christopher Nolan.
The two tend to be tight-lipped about the status of their relationship, but Zendaya let the cat out of the bag to Vanity Fair when acting opposite Holland was brought up. "Not really," she replied when questioned if it felt awkward. "It's actually strangely comfortable. It's like second nature, if anything." She continued to explain that having somebody close in proximity to you on set adds another level of security: "You feel extra safe with the person you're acting beside.
Zendaya also took a liking to how dedicated Holland was to his work: "I love working with him. He's so talented, and so passionate about what he does. He always gives things 1,000%, even if he's absolutely worn down. I really appreciate that about him." Speaking of the history between them, she said, "It feels pretty normal. That's how we met. Holland is the same age with an equally impressive track record, first appearing on stage as a child in Billy Elliot the Musical on the West End. His role in Spider-Man took him into global consciousness, and he was omnipresent across Marvel's cinematic universe. He then assumed lead positions in Uncharted, Cherry, and The Devil All The Time.
While the couple rarely speaks about their personal life with the public, it is pretty evident from the thoughts of Zendaya that they are into great professional and personal bonding, showcasing ease and mutual admiration that defines their on- and offscreen partnership.
